Wachusett Brewing Company; a great day trip for the entire family.

The story of Wachusett Brewing company is a very interesting one.  In 1994 three Massachusetts college students started home brewing in Westminster, MA.  They have grown this company into two locations, Westminster and Worcester.   Their flagship beer is the Country Ale, it’s an Amber Ale.  Delicious.  In 2002 they won a gold medal for their Country Ale at the Great American Beer Festival.  We usually go to the Westminster location at 175 State Road E, Westminster, Mass.  This location is open 7 days per week, year round.  Open most days noon to 9 pm.  Friday and Saturdays open till 10pm.  The 2nd location is at 152 Green Street, Kelley Square, Worcester, MA.

Now let’s talk beer… My FAV is the Blueberry Ale, which is one of their best-selling fruit beers, of course served with fresh blueberrys.  They offer 24 Wachusett beers on draught and they also have Seltzers….if you can’t find a beer you like here you’re out of luck.  Because I was writing this blog, I needed to partake in some of the beer for research purposes 😊.  The Strawberry Ale was so delicious and you can even smell the strawberry when they serve it.  The taste was amazingly refreshing, I can imagine drinking this beer on the boat in the summer heat ahhhhhh   I also tried Honey Bee which was delicious.  We sampled a few beers we had never tried before and none disappointed.

To me the atmosphere is as important as the beverages.  In the summer, Wachusett’s offers lot of outdoor fun, cornhole, horseshoes and outdoor entertainment.  Dogs are welcome here, on leash.  Even in the winter they offer live music at both locations.  Check out their entertainment menu.  I’ve been here in the summer and it’s so fun to listen to live music sitting outside at the picnic tables with your dog.  I went last weekend and its just as fun in the Winter.  They have a large tent set up with picnic tables inside and heated.  They also have a covered fire pit, which is cool because the roof is the top of a brewery silo.  The fire pit is a great place to sit and have conversations with other craft beer enthusiasts.

The brew serving area is actually an Airstream camper.  They’ve modified this camper to be an efficient beer serving machine.  They offer a wide variety of food pub food and its delicious.

They have a retail store with loads of beers to purchase to take home.  They have Wachusett apparel, hats and jackets.

I think this brewery is a fun destination for the whole family…even your furry friend.  I think you’d enjoy the entertainment, the food and most of all the wide variety of beer.

I’m going to attach their link below so you can check them out.   If you’ve enjoyed this blog, please go to my contacts and leave your email so I can let you know when I post another adventure.
