Hi Friends! Today I am at the largest indoor water park in Vermont, The Pump House at Jay Peak Resort in Jay Vermont. Its located in Northern Vermont very close to Canada. I chose to come here because my grandchildren love it here. We came here last year and they loved it so much they wanted to come back again. This place is HUGE… 60,000 square feet to be exact. We like to make a long weekend out of this trip, we rent a VRBO, have great food, drinks, play games with the family and create memories. The highlight of the weekend is definately the waterpark.
I’m a chicken and I usually don’t do the waterslides, but this weekend I did TWO!! They have 4 waterslides here, but the scariest of them is the 65-foot drop that gets you up to 45 mph on your way down… Absolutely NO WAY for me! I’m more of a lazy river kind of girl. There are two hot tubs, one inside and one out. The outside hot tub was so fantastic with the snow falling and skiiers going by and here I am in the hot water…. ahhhhh love it. They have a kiddie area for the little ones. Lots of interactive things for them to do with a little water slide for them as well. They have a large vessel that holds quite a bit of water and every so often it fills up and pours over the crowd (see my video below).
If you ask my grands they will tell you that the best part of the waterpark is the flow surfing area. Some people are amazing on this…. doing flips and spins, spraying the crowd with water. I loved just watching them… NOPE not going on this either LOL. You can either stand on the board or go on your belly with the boogie board. You have to be 42 inches to ride and 52 inches to stand on the board. If I did this I’m sure I’d break something even though the whole area is padded.
A couple of things you should know before you visit. You can buy tickets on-line and pick them up at the Wave store. Admission for adults is $43, 4-14 is $35, kids under 3 are free. You can’t bring any food or drinks into the park. They do have food inside the park and its pretty good. Typical fast food such as fries, chicken nuggets, pizza, ice cream, etc. They do have a bar for the adults…. that’s where I’m headed now.!
Overall, I think it’s a great adventure and worth the money. I highly recommend Jay Peak Waterpark. I mean really…. it’s cold, snowy January and I’m here in my swimsuit having fun and drinking adult beverages with my family and friends.
